Can you feel the love in the air? I’m feelin’ it…oh yes I am!
February represents a time for romance and recommitting to love.
Why not celebrate with some self-love first by rekindling that New Year’s spark you had to get back into shape? Eat a fresh, healthy meal, hit a fun workout, and take time for self-reflection and rest.
Spoil yourself with love and care! You deserve it!
February is also Black History Month and shows the incredible contributions of Black Americans.
Did you know that it was a black woman who pioneered the concept of self-care, Audre Lorde. Audre Lorde was a writer, poet, and activist who championed self-care, intersectionality, and social justice in her work.
Lorde introduced the concept of self-care in her profound essay, “A Burst of Light.” In it, she intimately recounts her poignant journey with breast cancer and emphasizes the significance of self-care and self-love for marginalized individuals.
Lorde argues that self-care is not just a personal necessity but a radical act of self-preservation and resistance against societal oppression. Through her candid narrative, she spotlighted the inherent strength and resilience required to navigate both the physical and emotional tribulations of illness while existing within systems of discrimination.
Sadly, after a hard-fought battle, Lorde lost her fight with cancer in 1992.
However, her work had an immense impact on the world and introduced millions to the powerful idea of self-care. Today, her writing continues to inspire people to prioritize their well-being and advocate for social change to ensure every individual can live a healthy life.
Audre Lorde’s powerful advocacy for self-care reminds us that sustaining our health goals IS a LIFELONG JOURNEY!
If January slipped away along with your New Year’s Resolutions, or as I like to say…NEW YEAR GOALS – No Worries! February also offers the perfect opportunity to recommit to your health goals. While you’re doing that, I urge you to pay attention to that demon called, self-sabotage.
Check this out: 80% of people give up their New Year’s resolutions by February. The biggest reason for so many quitting? Self-sabotage. Self-sabotage leads to skipping workouts, overeating, and neglecting rest, which counteracts your progress.
So why do so many people sabotage themselves?
Self-sabotage is deep-rooted in your psyche. Fundamentally, it comes from a lack of self-love and care. A lack of self-love can lead to a very limiting mindset.
Self-sabotage takes many forms, including: negative self-talk, fear of failure unrealistic, goals, and more are the culprit.
When facing these mental barriers, it’s tough to focus on getting back into shape. You have to start by addressing your self-sabotaging behaviors, which means learning to love yourself.
This February, treat yourself to a life with unending possibilities. Treat yourself to health, happiness, and love.
If you are struggling to find self-love, let me help you turn that around. When you join one of my private training or coaching sessions, I’ll show you how to get motivated to care for yourself. I’ll teach you effective workouts, give you plenty of healthy nutrition tips, help you stay mentally motivated and show you how to always make working out fun! I’ll make it real easy for you. Click here to get started.
A setback is no reason to give up your fitness goals. You don’t need a New Year to have a new you. You just need a new mindset and maybe a little boost from me. 😊
Are you excited to kick off another fabulous year? I know I am! I’ve got so many plans and exciting things in store for myself. I’m just feeling blessed and highly favored right now.
With the holidays officially behind us – how did you make out?
Did you stay on track? Did you slip up a bit? Did the stress get to be too much sometimes? No matter what your answers are – it’s OK! It’s a NEW Year, and that means it’s time to get back on track moving your way back toward the NEW you!!
Let your inner attack dog out NOW and get ready to conquer 2024.
It’ll be hard work, but who’s afraid of that wolf? Not ME. Are you?
It’ll require a plan and some dedication. I can do that. Can you?
It will get you what you want. Would you like that? I LOVE that!
This is the time of year when so many folks start setting “New Year’s Resolutions”. I am NOT a big fan!
I say this every year: RESOLUTIONS DON’T WORK!
In fact, 91% of people will not achieve their New Year’s resolutions. It’s not because 91% of people are incapable of achieving goals. No. It is because resolutions set you up for failure.
You go into it with the best of intentions, but most resolutions don’t even make it past the first quarter of the year.
Some people shoot for too big of a resolution that is just impossible to reach or they make a resolution but have no intention of following through because they are not ready for a change.
As a Lifestyle and Fitness Coach, I watch people go through this cycle over and over every year. Stop making resolutions!
If you want to see REAL results, if you want a REAL change, set goals and make it a lifestyle change. GOALS NOT RESOLUTIONS will help to fix a toxic mindset, bad habits, and unhealthy patterns for good.
Change doesn’t happen instantly; it happens when you make small decisions every day that build over time into success.
It’s not about making the most of 2024 – it’s about making the most of your LIFE!
Here is what I always recommend to support post-holiday physical recovery:
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated
- Replenish your nutrients by eating plenty of fresh produce
- Build back to a healthy fitness routine by doing low-impact exercise
- Practice yoga, meditation, or mindfulness to help emotionally recover
- Give yourself an extra few hours of sleep each night to catch up on what you lost
Rather than going through another year of resolutions that won’t stick, make a real commitment to your health.
I am willing to make 2024 my best year yet. If you are too…
Commit to your goals, commit to yourself, and most importantly, commit to your health and I guarantee you this will be your strongest year ever!
If you’re having trouble figuring it all out or setting goals…

Honoring & Celebrating the Life & Birthday of Dr. King Jan. 15th
“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”
– Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Greetings Fabulous One!
I hope your holidays are being filled with good health and cheer, and 2024 will be your most fabulous year!
Maybe it’s all the sparkling Christmas lights, but I feel especially electric with the holiday spirit this year. I’ve added a few of my favorite holiday hits to my workout playlist and have been rockin’ around the Christmas tree all month!
I always have a blast this time of year, but if I’m being real, the holidays are not always filled with cheer. 55% of people say that Christmas is the most stressful holiday of the year, and they’re not wrong. Christmas can get stressful.
With rising costs, it’s tough to afford to provide that perfect, magical Christmas your family deserves. Between all your obligations and responsibilities, finding time to shop for gifts, cook extravagant meals, decorate your home, and go to so many different events seems impossible. Then, in all the rush of commercialism and hype of the holiday season, the holidays lose their real meaning. Worst of all, sometimes you don’t get to spend the holidays with your loved ones.
All of this can add up to stress, and that stress can lead to some serious health consequences.
To protect your health, you need a strategy to keep the stress at bay. Here is what I do to get control of holiday stress and have holiday fun instead:
- Start With Rest: If you are feeling the holiday stress, take time out to recover, recoup, and recharge. Rest helps us deal with stress and it protects your health. If you feel pressure to overcommit, remember it’s okay to decline invitations or requests that add stress.
- Do Less: Doing less does not mean you have to give up doing the holiday most. It just means finding strategies like simplifying, delegating, or automating to reduce your holiday chore lists. Make a holiday to-do list and prioritize your tasks to manage your time effectively.
- Stay Blessed: The true spirit of the holidays is all about spending time with your family and celebrating abundance. When you focus on your holiday traditions and blessings, it’s easier to let go of the added pressure and stress.
- Master The Mess: When you give yourself the right tools, like a healthy body, mind, and soul, you build resilience where stress bounces off of you. When you master yourself, you can easily manage all of the mess and stress of the holidays.
To master holiday stress, remember: Start with rest, do less, stay blessed, and master the mess!
A meaningful way to master the mess is by supporting your physical health. If you’re having trouble figuring out how to do that why not book a Take Back Your Life One Hour Strategy Session with me so I can help you combat the stress and set you up for success.
Remember: Stress is a natural part of the holidays. Having a strategy to master the holiday mess will help you overcome the holiday stress.
I wish you and yours a very Happy Holiday and a very Prosperous New Year!
Are you ready to kick off this holiday season? I SURE AM!
With Thanksgiving coming up, I have so much to be thankful for this year. I’m thankful for my loved ones, I’m thankful for waking up every single day with a well body and a smile on my face, and I’m thankful for YOU. This is a time to reflect, show thanks, and be inspired by whoever inspires you to be the very best that you can be!
I’m excited for all the fun, family, friends, and festivities–in moderation, of course! Holidays or not, I always keep my health a priority. How about you?
What was extra exciting for me this holiday season was the Beyoncé tours. Even though I wasn’t able to attend in person, I have been connected to all of her events because I have friends in the industry who keep me in touch with what’s going on and I also follow her on social media. It’s been so exciting!
Her shows were electrifying! Everyone looked and felt incredible, mirroring all the positive energy like a “giant disco ball.”
During her Virgo season tour this year, she asked all of her fans to wear silver or chrome to her concerts as a birthday gift. Beyoncé loves silver and chrome because they mirror energy and reflect light, bringing so much positivity to a space. Wearing all silver also helped the Bey-hive feel really connected to one another, bringing even more positive energy.
But here’s where I connect with her the most. SHE KEEPS IT REAL! She’s not just a pretty picture. She is a businesswoman and philanthropist. She really cares about people and making a positive impact.
Also…Did you know she has a great workout regimen too? Yeah, she didn’t wake up that way or instantly snap back into shape after having those babies. She works out diligently when not on stage.
Her approach to fitness is similar to mine. Beyoncé focuses on fast, effective workouts and builds physical fitness into her everyday life. Using a killer combination of high-energy cardio and strength training, it’s aged her backward and has allowed her to outdance and outperform anyone in the game.
I can relate. We both believe challenges are opportunities, that your health is the key to a good life and keeping the body in motion can be fast and fun. The combination of positivity and physical fitness cannot be beaten for transforming your life.
This holiday season, instead of stressing out and binge eating conjure up your inner Queen Bey and shake it loose in front of a mirror for 20 minutes – I mean dance, thrust, go nuts, and then add in your own moves to a Beyoncé song.
You can also workout with me for 20 minutes each day. I have 31 workout videos that you can access and do anytime you want to in the privacy of your own home.
It’s a perfect way to get you through the holidays and position yourself for the new year. It’s on sale for $147 ($6/day).
This offer expires – December 15th! But once you get the videos you keep them for life.
You’ll get nutrition tips and a workout routine that will have you dancing like Beyoncé and the boost of positivity you need to achieve your fitness goals.
Get your 31 workout videos here!
I’ll help you get on track and stay on track, no matter the holiday temptations!
Have an amazing Thanksgiving!

People always say Wendy, you haven’t aged a bit or you’re aging backwards. What’s your secret?
Others chime in as if to answer for me and say things like black don’t crack or she has good genes.
The truth is…Statistics show that approximately 30 percent of aging is genetic, and 70 percent is up to you – how you care for and protect your skin, your body, and the lifestyle you lead.
I’ve repeated that many times, but people don’t usually take it seriously.
Some people still believe in old, outdated, nightmarish and negative stories surrounding age which can only lead to your demise. These stories in your head, make you believe that you have no control. When, in fact, the majority of the control lies in your hands.
As we age our lives become a tapestry of memories and experiences.
Each one of these milestones add to the richness of your existence and becomes a treasure chest of wisdom.
Find freedom and bask in the beauty of your amazing experiences. Use that wisdom to begin your journey backwards. Start by going back to your roots.
Remember when you were a child, you laughed at the funniest, silliest things. Then, of course, you got older and went through some trials and tribulations that made you look at life more seriously. You experienced heartbreak, divorce, losing your loved ones, or even losing your sense of self. These experiences hardened your heart and filled you with worry.
All these hardships and stressors aged you, making you older than your chronological age. If you want to age backward, you just have to let go!
Let go of the stress. Let go of the fear. Let go of the seriousness! I always say, “Let Go and Let God.” Trust me, it ain’t that serious. Remind yourself of that by taking some time to laugh a little. Make it a daily habit. Laughter will change your life and age you backwards.
Instead of fighting it, embrace each stage of your life so you can make room for the beautiful transformations that come with each stage of aging.
When you’re ready to truly transform your life and start aging backwards, join me in my 31-day workout program. I take a holistic approach to fitness, where you won’t just learn exercise and diet strategies. I’ll also help you overcome those mental barriers standing in the way of you living your best, most fulfilling life. Barriers like thinking you’re “TOO OLD TO HAVE FUN.”
If you want more energy, if you want to look and feel like yourself, if you want to embrace aging, this program will assist you in getting on the right track.
It’s only $9/day.
Find time every day to move your body and let in a little bit of that childlike exuberance. THAT is the key to aging backwards, and something so small can absolutely change your life!

Did you hear about the new epidemic?
Loneliness has emerged as a modern day epidemic, magnified by the isolation and losses of the COVID pandemic. While our digital devices promise to keep us linked, they are no substitute for the deeper connections that sustain our emotional well-being.
I thrive when I’m with the people I love, and chances are – you probably do, too! Unfortunately, this is getting to be a situation that’s few and far between for far too many. According to reports from just a few months ago, the new epidemic facing the United States today isn’t some kind of bug or a germ – it’s loneliness.
This report put out by the US Department of Health and Human Services found that about half of American adults experienced measurable and regular loneliness even before the Covid-19 pandemic; numbers that have only risen since.
Loneliness isn’t something that only zeroes in on mental health – there are some serious physical consequences that come along with it, too! Poor social connection can increase a person’s risk of heart disease by 29%, a person’s risk of stroke by 32%, and for older folks, it can increase the risk of developing dementia by a whopping 50%. Spending some good old-fashioned quality time with people you love isn’t a treat, it’s a physical necessity! We need connection, and we’ve got to figure out how we’re going to combat this serious issue facing so many.
What We Can Do To Fight Loneliness
We all wish it was as easy to make connections in adulthood as it was in childhood! Back then, you could walk into school and make friends, find friends on the playground, or join up with family members for that much needed social connection time. While it might be a little tougher now, I can vouch that it’s far from impossible!
A few things you can do to find meaningful social connections are:
- Explore your hobbies – Do you love knitting? What about yoga? Are you feeling yourself when you jump into a pool? Your hobbies could be your best key to fighting loneliness. Using your hobby or hobbies as a baseline, seek out clubs or meet-ups in your area with other like-minded hobbyists you can connect with. Whether it’s cooking, gardening, fitness, or ANYTHING – you’ve already got the perfect ice breaker and something you know you have in common!
- Force yourself out of the house – Loneliness can be a funny thing. It can make you want to withdraw socially, taking away from you the very thing you need the most! Forcing yourself out just to walk around a park, visit a grocery store, or run errands where others will be can make you feel less lonely. Becoming a regular walker at the local park can also set you up with the other regulars who may be there doing the very same thing!
- Adopt a pet – Pets have an AMAZING way of encouraging us to do the things we need to do, even if we might not want to do them. If you’re struggling with motivation and you’re feeling lonely, pets offer companionship at home while also setting you up to connect with other pet owners in pet-centric spaces.
By the way, loneliness is very different from being alone. There is such a thing as being in a relationship, but still having feelings of loneliness. So evaluate what’s going on in your life and make adjustments accordingly.
The journey to alleviating loneliness is a personal one, but combating loneliness is essential to protecting your mental and emotional health.

How are you? Are you taking care of yourself and treating yourself the way you deserve to be treated? I wanna know because I’ve been making up for lost time and I’ve been having a blast this year coming off the heels of the pandemic.
Summer should be winding down about now, and I’m definitely ready for some cooler days! But as things cool off, I just wanted to check in with you to make sure your health, wellness, and fitness goals haven’t cooled off as well.
One of the biggest mistakes people make is not prioritizing their health, especially if you are a woman over 50.
Other BIG health mistakes women make are:
- Neglecting Heart Health – It’s the number one killer. The risks are greater as we age. It’s never too late to change bad habits. Get more exercise, lose weight, quit smoking, and do things that benefit the heart.
- Losing Your Sense of Purpose – You can run straight into poor health and a failing sense of well-being when you lose this. Finding purpose for your life, can reduce your risk of heart failure and Alzheimer’s Disease.
- Skipping Appointments – How many appointments have you talked your way out of lately? Your new healthy living routine shouldn’t miss out on health screenings. Mammograms, bone density tests, and cervical cancer screenings are all so important for women over 50. Early detection can make so much of a difference in successful treatment outcomes.
- Ignoring Your Mental HealthYour emotional well-being matters just as much as your physical. Try engaging in fun and enjoyable activities like meditation or yoga.
- Not Enough Physical Activity – When you stay active, you can maintain a healthy weight, ensure strong bones, and keep a sharp mind.
If you don’t have your health, every aspect of your life is negatively affected. When you look at these mistakes, they are all the result of not making your health your number one priority.
I understand how difficult it can be sometimes for women because we’re so used to putting everyone’s needs before our own. I used to do the same thing and as a result my health suffered and my life went south.
So I made a promise to myself that I would never put anything above my health again. It’s the best promise I have ever made. After prioritizing my health, my life transformed into everything I ever wanted it to be and more! I had the confidence to go after my goals, the resilience to withstand hard times, and the energy to explore the world and have a blast doing it!
I work with people just like you every day and I can tell you from experience that once they made that promise and commitment they have also gotten results.
If you’re ready to heat up your wellness routine let’s work up a plan to get you started.
My 31-day workout program is the perfect starting point for reaching your health goals. First, we kick off with some moves that will set you up for success and get your body familiar with the moves.

This is a 31-day challenge and transformative experience and a great way to jumpstart your fitness and weight loss goals.

“Don’t let anybody steal your joy!” – Wendy Ida
I have a question for you…
When you think of wellness, when you think about health – what do you think about? Probably feeling good, right? When you’re well, you really FEEL it! It’s my favorite feeling, just knowing that I’m doing the very best for myself – I mean all of me!
Wellness is not just about your physical health. When wellness became a fad word, it lost a lot of meaning. We’ve got to get back to the real essence of it.
True wellness is balancing the health of every area of your life – because every area of your life is affected by your health.
In every sense of the word WELLNESS is multi-dimensional. Yes, it includes your physical body, but it also includes your mental health, your emotional health, spiritual health, environmental health, social health, and even your financial health. Your happiness and health in each of these different parts of your life is interconnected and dependent on each other.
My personal success started with physical health and then mental and emotional. Then I was able to check the wellness temperature in every other area of my life.
Have you checked your temperature lately?
When you strike that balance, take it from me, you open up a WHOLE world when it comes to what wellness in every area of your life can really mean!
For folks over 50, maintaining wellness takes a bit more proactive action. High blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, arthritis, osteoporosis, and mental health conditions can come creeping up when you reach a certain age, so you might have some new concerns you didn’t have a few years ago and if you already had some of those concerns, then it can become even more serious with age. As a result, you’re quality of life can suffer.
Have check-in sessions with yourself and your medical team, get in touch with how you REALLY feel, and don’t wait for any new wellness concerns (in any facet of your life) to come knocking on your door first!
Then you can clearly check your thermometer on every other part of your life. How well are you emotionally or financially, how well are you socially – with your family, with your friends, with your associates? How well are you spiritually? All of these things are interconnected with your physical health, and have to be considered as a part of your wellness plan.
So I ask you again…
Have you checked your wellness temperature lately – in every area of your life?
If you are not sure, or having a tough time, getting to where you want to be in life, OR… you keep revisiting the same problems.
- If you are way off track and have been for years.
- If you’re finding out what you’re doing is not working.
- If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Don’t waste anymore time. Contact me NOW firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll help you get on track fast with a customized plan of action that will help you finally reach your goals.
In the meantime,…while you’re having fun in the sun, take it easy on yourself, give yourself mental health checks, and schedule some time for gratitude and personal “Me Time” to keep your mental wellness high when times feel tough.
Make sure you’re wearing sun protection, keep yourself hydrated, and don’t push yourself too far when the days heat up.
Keep in mind, wellness in every dimension of your life in balance is the key to feeling the complete scale of your full potential!
“Don’t let getting lonely make you reconnect with toxic people. You shouldn’t drink poison just because you’re thirsty.” – Dr. George C Fraser
Summer is finally here! I’m already having a blast hitting the pool, working out at the park, and meeting up with my besties to chat over some healthy summer dishes. I hope you’re having some fun in the sun too!
I wanted to take a minute to have a quick heart-to-heart talk. With the rising summer temps, it’s important to monitor your heart. The risk of heart attack increases as the temperature does.
Let’s just get to the heart of the matter: 18.2 million Americans have heart disease, and heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the States.
However, did you know that 80% of heart disease cases are preventable?
To help you avoid becoming a statistic here are my heart health tips to keep your heart feeling great all summer long:
- Kick saturated and trans fats, sodium, and added sugars to the curb
- Get up and get moving every single day
- Find fun and healthy ways to deal with stress
- Cut out any bad habits like smoking or drinking
- Don’t neglect your annual physicals (semi-annual if you’re over 65)
- Monitor your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar
- When your intuition speaks to you – LISTEN!
If you stay proactive with your health, you can avoid major crises. Remember, it’s NEVER TOO LATE to start a healthy routine no matter what age, where you live, or what shape you’re in.
My dear client Bonnie is a good example. She was bedridden for five years due to morbid obesity. Rather than give up, we started training right there in her bed.
It was a tough road ahead, but I knew I could help her accomplish her weight loss goals and make her life better. I’ve never been afraid of a challenge. At one point I called my incredible fireman friend Reggie Lester. He gathered all of his firemen and EMT buddies to help me build a new bed so I could continue to safely train her. And guess what?
The plan worked! Shortly after, we got her out of her bed and cut her out of that house for good! She’s back on the right track and showing people that it really is NEVER TOO LATE!
Thing is…Everyone thought it was too late for Bonnie (Bonnie thought that too), but I knew better. No matter what your circumstances, I will keep working with you to get a healthy fresh start for your heart. All of my coaching programs were designed with your health in mind.
I help my clients tackle stress so they aren’t putting extra pressure on their heart. I can show you heart-healthy workouts that are ideal for beginners and pros. I also share coaching tips to help you make smarter decisions for your diet and your heart.
My ultimate goal is to help you take back your fabulous! Learn more about how you can work with me to bolster your heart health.
Have fun in the sun!

“Warriors don’t quit. They refuel, refocus & dive forward.” – Wendy Ida
I hope you’re well because a lot of people are still stressing out these days and since this month, (April) is Stress Awareness Month I’ve got lots to tell you.
Did you know that stress doesn’t just make you feel bad, it can actually damage your body?
Did you also know that in 2022, 84% of Americans felt stressed at least once per week? That means if you gathered 100 people in a room, 84 of them would be experiencing considerable stress. Whoaa! That’s TOO MUCH!
Oh it’s real! I’ve had some tough times and I know you have too.
A man contacted me recently about his experience with stress and it broke my heart.
“I’m an ex husband who suffered mental and emotional domestic violence, and I couldn’t talk about 30 years of bullying by my ex wife due to the stigma that men can’t be bullied. Unfortunately, my daughter became a bully too.
Police had to finally step in as I went to 20 stones (280 lbs), nearly died twice in the last three years with multiple different conditions caused by stress and anxiety…. sadly, but gladly I’m happier I lost 7 stones (98 lbs) during my hospital stay last year, as heart failure causes an accumulation of water throughout the body. Now I’m on the road back to what I love to do. I used to be a good health club sales and marketing membership manager and now I’ve finally found the confidence to reclaim what was stolen from me. So l’m keeping your video as inspiration for me to fight strong now and I’II show you my progress by end of year, I’m very inspired by your story as it resonates with me on a very deep level.”
Stress affects EVERY single system of the body – your nerves, your muscles, your hormones, even how your body digests and processes food!
- Weaken your immune system
- Increase your risk for cardiovascular issues
- Cause digestive problems
- Lead to headaches and migraines
- Trigger sleep disturbances
- Make skin problems worse
- Create musculoskeletal problems
- Increase anxiety and depression
- Cause libido changes
- Bring on fatigue & loss of motivation
Occasional stresses are pretty inevitable – maybe you’re stuck in traffic one day, maybe you’re afraid you’ll be late for a flight, maybe your refrigerator is on the fritz and you don’t want it to break before you get a new one! Little everyday stresses happen, but the secret is fighting these stresses before they turn into a chronic situation.
The longer you experience stress, the higher your risk becomes for these issues.
WHAT TO DO:
So how are you going to beat back stress?
Start by making yourself and your needs a priority. Set healthy boundaries. Say no! Give yourself permission to rest. Connect with your friends and family to share in joy. Take time for yourself and indulge in the things you love.
According to Harvard Medical School, one of the most POWERFUL tools you have to combat stress (and its effects on your body) is exercise.
Just say NO to STRESS and YES to YOURSELF!
- Do a self search and ask yourself:
- Have I been consistent with my workouts?
- How am I doing with my nutrition?
- Am I finishing what I start?
- Do I even know what to do at this point?

OMG! Can you believe it’s already March?! It seems like it was just New Years!
How are the promises you made to yourself in the beginning of the new year going by the way?
I’m just checking in because I know It can be easy to let things slide as our lives get busier and our schedules get full.
This month – Women’s History month can be a stark reminder. So check in with yourself and revisit your goals and commitments because when it comes to self-care, motivation, and focusing on ourselves, it’s important to MAKE the time to honor the promises you made to yourself. If you need a reset call or email me to let me know and I’ll get right on it.
Women’s History Month is all about celebrating the trailblazing women who came before us. It is a powerful time to show gratitude for those who have cleared the path, and to honor them by starting our OWN journeys.
I am reminded of some incredible women who have broken boundaries and led us to walk a different trail.
Women are strong like Tamara Walcott who broke World records when she successfully completed a 639-pound deadlift.
Women are smart like Shannon Miller who not only has 7 Olympic gold medals, but she’s also an attorney.
Women persevere against all odds like Junko Tabei, the first woman to summit Mount Everest.
These amazing women have shown us that we can ditch the unrealistic (and harmful) societal expectations of us and LIVE THE LIFE WE DESERVE!
As Mindy Kaling brilliantly said: “If you don’t see a clear path for what you want, sometimes you have to make it yourself.”
Don’t be afraid to lead the way. YOU are also strong, smart, resilient–and fabulous just like these pioneering women. But if you want to blaze your own trail:
- Define your fitness goals
- Ease into a workout program
- Start small, build consistency then intensity
- Have someone you can be accountable to like a fitness coach
- Don’t give up if you miss a workout
Remember that it not only takes work, but it means keeping your integrity. That means keeping the promises you make to yourself. Quite simply, do what you say your going to do no matter what. 😊
