You may think just beacuse you are always traveling that you don’t have time for exercise or have the time to eat healthy. That is where you are wrong! Here are my tips for staying healthy even while you are on the road.

Today, I wanted to take a minute to talk to the traveling professionals out there. I know firsthand that when you’re constantly on the road, it can be hard to keep your fitness where it should be. Not only is it harder to maintain a good diet, but also exercise can be difficult to fit into a busy schedule when you’re on the road.
But it is possible, and even simple if you remember a few basic things. Let me take a second to give you a handful of tips that can help:
“¢ Stay in hotels with a gym or workout room. Just being able to jump on a treadmill for 20 minutes can be a big benefit for your fitness regimen.
“¢ No gym? No problem. You can still do some basic cardio workouts without having a gym. Take a few key exercises like jumping jacks, in-place jogging, crunches, push-ups, and more and create a ‘travel friendly’ workout routine you can do right in your hotel room.
“¢ Always find ways to get active. If your meeting is a few blocks from the hotel, can you walk instead of taking a taxi? What about using the stairs instead of the elevator? Find the right way to get active, even if it’s not a full blown workout.
I know it’s tough to stay active, but you can exercise even if you’re on the road constantly. You just have to put your body and mind to it that’s all. After a while it will be as easy as pie. 🙂
Happy travels and talk to you soon!

Just because you are a busy mom, doesn’t mean you can’t make time for yourself. Remember staying active and healthy isn’t only good for you but it is good for your children in the long run.

I want to acknowledge the modern moms. These moms are heroes to put it simply and they have a lot of different things to manage throughout their day.
During the whirlwind of activity, however, it can be difficult to focus on getting fit, losing weight or keeping yourself all put together. It’s very possible to do if you put your mind to it though. Consider some of these tips that can assist you in the process:
“¢ Find the time! If the baby is taking a nap, it’s a perfect time for a quick yoga session or a few minutes on the exercise bike. You just need to give yourself the tools to workout, and remember that you only need 20 minutes or so a day to devote to exercise.
“¢ Be sure to focus on your diet. It can be easy to lose sight of your goals and resort to unhealthy meals or snacks, but things like eating plenty of veggies and fruits for snacks and pre-making a week’s worth of meals can simplify things.
“¢ Remember that lots of things during your day can help you lose weight. Whether it’s parking further away from the store or taking the stairs, identifying little steps that can contribute to your overall fitness is important.
Simply put, busy moms have a lot to manage. But that doesn’t mean that you have to give up on your fitness and wellbeing goals.
Try these simple tips, and watch what happens. You will feel better, sleep better and handle your day better and guess what?!…baby will love you for it! 🙂
Talk to you soon!

As you get older you may want to slow down on exercising, but you shouldn’t! It is incredibly important to your health and well being to stay active. Don’t sit and ponder on it anymore. Just get up and get moving!

As we age, our bodies can go through a variety of changes. From major ones to seemingly minor issues, those changes can often try to slow us down. But for those over 40 years of age, it’s still incredibly important to keep on exercising.
The obvious reason is simple – exercising helps to reduce the risks of numerous health issues including:
“¢ Obesity
“¢ Osteoporosis
“¢ Heart Disease
“¢ Diabetes
“¢ Alzheimer’s Disease
“¢ And much more
In addition to reducing your chances of developing serious health issues, exercising regularly can also help improve and maintain good mobility, flexibility, and balance. The boost to your self-esteem and energy is unmatched as well.
Simply put, you need to keep focused on exercising throughout your life. Just because you hit 40 doesn’t mean you need to stop. You have a long future ahead of you, and regular exercise will keep you moving forward in the best shape possible.

We are all guilty of following our favorite celebrities on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more. Some of my personal favorites happen to be over 40 and still very active. In fact, they are kicking up a storm and pushing past many obstacles. It is obvious that “Age is Not a Factor for them and they are not going down without a fight! How cool is that. Here are some…

America is obsessed with celebrities, whether we like it or not. And while there are plenty of articles out there about the crazy, outlandish, and bad things celebs do, I think it’s important to note that there really are numerous celebrities that can inspire us to greater things.
Let me give a shout out to my short list of celebs that prove you don’t have to sit down and take it anymore after 40, 50, 60 or 70 for that matter.
- Angela Bassett 57 – Not only is she a powerful actress with numerous standout roles, but she’s a strong woman emotionally, mentally, and physically. Her fitness is well known, and she works hard to stay in the best shape possible.
- Jennifer Lopez 46 – Here’s my ‘girl crush‘, and in a big way. She had found serious success throughout her life and has risen to where she is through her fire and determination. She’s always striving for perfection in everything she does – from her art to her business to raising her twins as a single mom.
- Cheryl Crow 54 – Cheryl Crow is a breast cancer survivor, and she says that her diagnosis helped her realize that disease can be related to your lifestyle and how much stress you place yourself under. She’s a key example of why having balance in your life is so important.
- Jennifer Hudson 34 – I know she’s only 34, but … few celebrities have overcome everything that Jennifer has. She struggled to find success, being constantly told she’d never find it – but now she’s one of the most recognized singers and actresses out there. Along the way, she lost a tremendous amount of weight, got in shape, and overcame major tragedy when her family was murdered. Simply put, she has beat the odds in a big way. All of this puts her in the over 40 category.
- Honorable Mentions – Cher 70 & Tina Turner 76. They are simply FABULOUS! Need I say more!

Talk about inspiration – These women are living it. They are living out loud in spite of age. They are leading by example, and can show you how to find your own success as well.

Are you tired of waking up slugish and feeling unmotivated? Then it is time to wake up and make a change!

Your health is important, and there are a lot of different steps that can help you feel better and take control of your life. There are two fundamentals on which to build a healthier life, and they are nutrition and exercise. While I feel both are just as important as the other, today I want to talk just a minute about eating healthy.
Far too many people assume that eating healthy means picking out a nutritional plan that everyone else is using and then trying your best to stick with it. But in reality, it’s much easier – and better – if you just make a few basic changes. For example:
“¢ Cut out things that you know are bad for you – greasy foods, sugar, and so on. At the very least, eat them only on special occasions.
“¢ Try a lot of different, new foods to find things that you really enjoy that you may not have known about before.
“¢ Don’t use those celebrity nutritional plans. Use common sense when you eat, and you’ll feel a lot better.

If you eat healthy, you’ll have more energy, lose weight, and feel better mentally and emotionally. It’s a simpler process than many realize, and is something well worth taking the time to learn more about.
Get up and start making a change today! Leave a comment to let me know what your change is going to be.

One of my greatest joys in life is being a mother. It’s the toughest job I’ve ever had but, through all the difficult and joyful times, I wouldn’t change a thing.
My mom is no longer here…but, I celebrate her in my heart still. Be grateful and appreciate your mother (while you can) for all you are and all you have, especially this Mother’s Day!

We all love our mothers, right? Even those of us who have some friction with our moms still need to understand that being thankful for them is something that everyone needs to take a moment to do. And as Mother’s Day approaches, it is more important than ever before that we take the time to do just that.
Why? Because doing so not only helps show her that you love her, but it gives your own life a sense of balance, meaning, and grounding. So how can you show your mother that you’re thankful for all she’s done? Here are a few ideas that will let you do so without giving her harmful sweets or other similar gifts.
“¢ Take her out. You know what your mother likes, so spend some time giving her y our attention and doing what it is she enjoys. Whether it’s a movie date, a dinner at a restaurant she has always wanted to try, or something else entirely, take the time to take her out. You’ll both enjoy it more than you might realize.
“¢ Help her find her health and fitness center. Set up a weekly day that you and her go out for a walk or a hike. You’ll get in shape, help her feel better, and get to bond in a unique way. Or give her my VIP Day Coaching Program!
“¢ Tell her. Even if she’s on the other side of the country, spend a few minutes calling her up, send her a card, or even arrange a special delivery to her home. It takes just a few minutes to let your mom know how special she is.

You owe your life to your mother, and from time to time it’s important to remind her and yourself just how thankful you are that she gave you life. Be thankful for her this Mother’s Day. It will reward her as well as yourself.
What will you be giving your mother this Mother’s Day? Share your plans with me by leaving a comment!

You know how I am always giving you guidance on how to Take Back Your Life? Well, beyond having a healthy and fit body, there is more to do if you want to make that happen. Finances are one area I want to focus on this week. So let me introduce you to René Nourse, Founder of Urban Wealth Management. She is the ultimate professional who knows her stuff inside out. You may have seen her on CNBC, and if you have, you can appreciate how she guides you financially in language you can understand. Let me also not leave out that René is my client, too. So she truly believes in keeping her finances in shape as well as her body.

Chances are, if you’re serious about your health and fitness, you’re probably using some type of tool to keep you on track. You might be working with a personal trainer, like Wendy Ida, using a mobile app, or utilizing a wearable tracker, such as a Fitbit or Apple Watch.
Whatever method you’re using, it’s all about accountability. Believe it or not, the same holds true for your personal finances. After all, a goal is a goal, right? And frankly, the route to success is pretty much the same. If you want to improve any aspect of your financial life, setting goals, creating a plan and tracking your progress is critical to being successful. Just as you would follow the same steps in creating your fitness plan, let’s review how these same steps can be applied towards your Financial Fitness Plan.
(1) Begin with the end in mind: What are your goals for your finances? What are you trying to achieve? Having a specific goal in mind will help you stay laser focused on the outcome. For example, if your goal is to buy real estate, be specific about what you want to buy. If it’s a single family home, be clear about the details. How many bedrooms, bathrooms does your house have? Does it have a yard, what part of town do you want to want to live in? Be as specific as you can and set a date for your goal to be achieved. This step, while seemingly elementary, is actually fundamental to how successful you’ll be in meeting your goal.
(2) Write it down: Putting your financial goals in writing, and looking at them periodically–say weekly or monthly–will keep them fresh and real. Also, when writing your goals, see yourself as having already achieved the goal vs. meeting the goal sometime in the future. Instead of: “I want to be debt-free,” say: “I am debt free and no longer have balances on my…” – fill in the blank: credit cards, student loans, auto loan, etc.
(3) Track It: Know what your starting point is, so that you can track your progress and celebrate your wins. It may seem a bit daunting at first, and it might not even seem that a lot is happening at the beginning. But, trust me, you will see progress in your finances because now you’re paying attention. On the other hand, if you discover that progress is waning, you’ll know exactly what to do to get back on track.
(4) Keep it simple: How you track your progress will greatly depend on what’s most easy and convenient. There are tons of apps out there, a lot of which are free or nearly free. Minimally, you’ll want the app to include an aggregation tool that will connect and pull in transactions from your financial institutions, allow you to create customizable budgets, and send alerts–if, for example, you exceed your monthly budget. Utilizing this type of tool is very powerful because what you see is your financial life in real time.
(5) Finally, Work with a Professional: Just as you would hire a personal trainer to design a customized fitness plan, provide guidance and accountability, the same can be said about meeting your financial goals. A Certified Financial Planner or CFP®, is akin to a Financial Coach. They can help provide clarity about your finances and your goals, create a customized plan and assist in tracking your progress. Many CFP® professionals charge flat fees, so you’ll know exactly how much you’re paying for their services. To locate a Certified Financial Planner in your area, visit either the national CFP Board website, www.cfp.net or the Financial Planning Association website: www.plannersearch.org.

Are you over 40 yet? 50? Well maybe none of those. The truth is, whether you are under or over 40 it really doesn’t matter. So don’t stress about it. Instead do something. Make a decision today that can turn your life around so you can be that bodaciously, bold & sexy diva you want to see in the mirror.

More and more people, including celebs, are exercising their power to get on the bandwagon regardless of age to accomplish some amazing personal goals.
In fact, celebrities are leading the way and sending a message that you can look great after the age of 40. Below are just a few.
Susan Sarandon recently turned a lot of heads when she showed up at the SAG awards in a cleavage-baring top that showed off just how amazing the 69-year-old actress still looks. Some were surprised by her boldness while others were just surprised at how great she looks. I definitely wasn’t surprised though – primarily because I can think of countless celebs over 40 who look amazing.
I’m sure you can think of some yourself but a few amazing ones are:
Jennifer Lopez
Naomi Sims
Jennifer Aniston
Halle Berry
Nicole Kidman
Vanessa Williams
Marisa Tomei
The list goes on and on, and that’s just the ladies! It’s also important to understand that the excuse of ‘they have money for personal trainers’ doesn’t work because I believe if you have the ‘will’ there’s a ‘way’ to get the guidance you need to succeed. The reality is that with good nutrition, regular exercise, and a healthy lifestyle you too can look fit fierce &fabulous over forty – and beyond any day and everyday! The reality is also that some people need help with getting started and pushing past their plateaus. If this is you, just ask me now and I’ll show you how to make your body smile today!
Look at these celebs for inspiration and remember that it’s entirely possible to keep yourself healthy and beautiful no matter your age. That mindset is the first step towards a better future.
Who are your celebrity picks that look great over 40?

What are your plans this Easter? Church, dinner or just chilling at home. Have you even thought about it yet? If you have kids or grandchildren well you probably have. If you don’t have that responsibility perhaps its all about you and that’s cool too, but whoever or whatever your plans are don’t let yet another Holiday take you off track from the promises you made yourself at the beginning of the year. Here are some healthier alternatives!
Easter is one of the big holidays on the horizon, and every year stores sell billions of dollars’ worth of chocolate. But let’s face it – chocolate isn’t exactly the best thing you can eat when you’re focusing on your health and wellbeing. As such, it’s worth taking a look at some chocolate alternatives this year. You can still have an Easter treat, but that doesn’t mean it has to be chocolate.
Here are a few of my favorite options when you want a healthier alternative:
“¢ Nut Butter And Fruit – Apples and peanut butter, almond butter and bananas, and plenty of other options are worth considering.
“¢ Fruit Snacks – I’m not talking about those synthetic preservative filled snacks. Look for organic, healthy fruit snacks or check out online recipes to learn how to make your own.
“¢ Carrots and Hummus – Carrots provide plenty of nutrition and hummus is a fitness favorite. Plus, the Easter Bunny loves carrots!

Get creative with your Easter basket this year and focus on healthier alternatives. You’ll feel and look better as a result.

How will you plan your Easter to make it a healthy one? I want to know!

Do you have any plans for St. Patty’s Day? Just asking because I want you to stay on top of your game. What I mean is Holidays are one of those things that usually throw people off track which causes them to lose site of their goals and promises they made to themselves at the beginning of the year. I don’t want that to happen to you! Think about the days ahead but take one healthy step at a time. I can help you with that. Let’s get the party started with some of these healthy options!

Ah, St. Patrick’s Day. While this was once a celebration that was rooted in tradition, today it seems to have become little more than an excuse to get incredibly drunk – at least for many people out there. Add to this the unhealthy meals usually associated with the holiday – greasy Rueben sandwiches, for example, and it becomes clear that those of us who are more concerned with our health need a better way to celebrate.
Instead of celebrating like most of the country this St. Patrick’s Day, consider some other options.
“¢ Head to the gym! It’s likely to be a bit emptier than usual since others will be out partying, so you can get in a serious workout. Or you can sign up for one of my coaching, training or mentoring programs.
“¢ Take a nature walk. Don’t get green beer – get green scenery by heading out into the spring air.
“¢ If you really want to imbibe, a single glass of wine with dinner should suffice. Sparkling grape juice is a much better alternative, however, and well worth using instead.

St. Patrick’s Day doesn’t have to be about alcohol – and it’s only recently that it became focused on that. This year, choose a different approach.
Name one thing you can do on this St. Patrick’s Day or ANY DAY for that matter to improve your life?
