The other day I reached up to grab something from the top shelf in my kitchen, and it made me stop and smile.
Not because I grabbed what I needed…
But because it felt easy.
There was a time when reaching that high would have made my shoulders feel tight or my back remind me it wasn’t as happy as it used to be.
Now, at 74 years young, I’m actually more flexible than I was at 40.

If you’ve been cheering me on, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you haven’t voted yet, I’d be so grateful for your support today.

Isn’t that something?
People hear that and think I must spend hours stretching every day.
I don’t.
I just make it part of my life.
That’s the difference.
Stretching is one of those things that’s easy to skip because it doesn’t seem very exciting.
You don’t work up a sweat.
You don’t burn a bunch of calories.
You don’t look in the mirror afterward and see some big transformation.
So we tell ourselves we’ll do it tomorrow.
Then tomorrow turns into next week.
Maybe you’ve noticed your body feeling a little tighter lately.
Maybe it’s getting harder to reach the top shelf.
Maybe getting up off the floor isn’t quite as easy as it used to be.
Or maybe you catch yourself moving a little slower because something just doesn’t feel as loose anymore.
Those little changes aren’t your body giving up.
They’re your body asking you to pay attention.
I’ve learned something over the years.
The little things we do consistently are usually the things that make the biggest difference.
Stretching is one of them.
When your body moves well, life feels easier.
You walk with more confidence.
You stand a little taller.
You move without thinking about every step.
You feel more like yourself.
And isn’t that really what we all want?
Not to be 25 again.
Just to keep doing the things we love without our bodies holding us back.
Here’s the good news!
You don’t need to become a yoga expert.
You just need a few minutes.
Stretch while your coffee is brewing.
Reach your arms over your head before you head out the door.
Loosen your shoulders after you’ve been sitting for a while.
Before bed, take a few slow stretches and let your body unwind from the day.
That’s enough.
You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to keep showing up.
That’s how healthy habits are built.
One small choice at a time.
So today, do one thing for yourself.
Give your body a few minutes to stretch.
I have a feeling it’ll thank you for it.
And if you’d like help putting together a flexibility routine that’s right for your body and your goals, I’d love to help. You can always reach me here:

Your body is still listening.
Treat it with love, keep it moving, and it’ll keep showing up for you for years to come.
