Yes, today May 3rd is my 74th birthday! And as usual, I’m celebrating all month long.  I’ll be following my own advice and celebrating it the only way I know how: with gratitude, joy, movement, and a little bit of fun.

The Gorilla Knows Something We Forgot

So, I recently had one of those unforgettable moments. You may have seen the video where I found myself dancing alongside a gorilla, both of us completely in the moment, having the time of our lives.

And honestly? That’s really what this month is all about.

Life hands us these unexpected moments of joy, and too often we rush right past them. But those are the moments that become memories. When hard seasons hit, and they always do, it’s those good memories that carry us, steady us, and remind us that life is still beautiful.

Birthdays Aren’t the Enemy

A lot of people dread birthdays because they think it means getting old. They avoid the number, ignore the day, and act like pretending it isn’t happening at all somehow can slow Father Time’s pace. Well, it doesn’t.

I understand because I used to be one of them. The number climbs, and suddenly it feels like you’re losing life.

If you avoid your birthday, you’re just looking at the calendar. Every day that passes by is a gift of more time, not time taken from you.

Instead of resisting the years, embrace them. Celebrate them for bringing you more time on this beautiful blue planet.

Birthdays are more like mile markers. Proof that you made it to where you are today.

Birthdays are life’s way of telling us to stop and appreciate the journey. Isn’t that something worth celebrating?

A Different Way to Look at Aging

My mother passed away far too young (age 42) and didn’t get the chance to celebrate all of the birthdays she deserved. That perspective changed things for me.

Every birthday is a gift. It doesn’t matter if you’re turning 40, 60, 70, or beyond. If you’re here to celebrate it, you are blessed. Be glad you survived what brought you to this moment.

And I mean it…celebrate LOUDLY. Dance even when the music isn’t as loud as it could be. Make memories on purpose.

And, if possible, dance with a gorilla. 😂

So, whether you’re turning 40, 50, 60, 70, or beyond, remember this:

If you are here to celebrate another year, you are blessed. 🙏

Now let’s make these your strongest and healthiest years to date by taking advantage of my Birthday Month Special:
